Prince Harry and Meghan Part Ways with Spotify

The deal between Prince Harry, the youngest son of the British King, and his wife Meghan with the streaming giant Spotify to produce online podcast episodes has ended after only one season. The Swedish company announced its partnership with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in late 2020, following their step back from royal duties and their move to California. Media outlets estimated the value of the deal to be around $20 million or more.

Twelve episodes of Meghan's podcast titled "Archetypes," which Spotify described as "an investigation and dismantling of the archetypes that try to undermine women," were released. Meghan hosted several notable personalities, including Mariah Carey and Serena Williams. The Duchess received the award for Best Host of Entertainment Podcasts at the Gracie Awards in March.

Spotify and the royal couple's company issued a joint statement announcing the contract's termination. The statement read, "Spotify and Archewell Audio have agreed to part ways and are proud of the podcast episodes they produced together."
