The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced in a statement issued early Friday morning that it has summoned the Danish chargé d'affaires and delivered a protest note regarding the burning of a copy of the Quran in Copenhagen. A small group of anti-Islam individuals had earlier this week set fire to Qurans in front of the Iraqi, Egyptian, and Turkish embassies in Copenhagen. The Saudi foreign ministry clarified that the protest note included "the Kingdom's demand to stop these shameful acts, which contravene all religious teachings and international laws and norms." The Kingdom reaffirmed its "categorical rejection of all these acts that fuel hatred between religions."
