China and the U.S. Agree to Maintain Close Communication on Climate

Chinese climate envoy Xie Zhenhua and U.S. envoy John Kerry noted during a video call on Thursday that both countries have agreed to continue close communication regarding issues including climate change. In reference to the discussions between Xie and Kerry, the Chinese Ministry of Ecology stated in a press release, "The two sides exchanged views on topics such as strengthening China-U.S. dialogue on climate change and enhancing cooperation in the multilateral process related to global climate issues." Kerry emphasized that more work is needed to reach agreements with China on major issues.
