Significant Decrease in Various Crimes During the First Half of This Year

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces released a statistical table regarding certain serious crimes (murder, robbery, car theft, aggravated theft, pickpocketing) committed during the first half of 2023 (January, February, March, April, May, and June), indicating a notable decrease compared to the same months of the previous year. A total of 6,279 individuals were arrested during this period. It emphasizes that despite the difficult circumstances Lebanon is facing, its personnel are fully prepared to fulfill their security duties to ensure the protection of Lebanese citizens and residents across various regions of Lebanon. They are working in cooperation and coordination with different military and security agencies, urging the public to embody a spirit of responsibility by reporting crimes they witness to the emergency number 112, and to diligently ensure compliance with and respect for the applicable laws, as security is a shared responsibility.
