Person Killed in Shelling in Ukrainian Zaporizhia

The Russian news agency TASS reported, citing emergency services, that one person was killed and another injured today, Friday, when Ukrainian forces shelled a road in the Zaporizhia region of southern Ukraine, which Russia now considers part of its territory. The agency noted that the shelling occurred near the village of Novohorivka.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian Air Force disclosed in a statement that air defenses shot down 13 cruise missiles launched by Russia in the early hours of Friday morning towards a military airbase in the Khmelnytsky region, western Ukraine. It added that the missiles were launched by Russian strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea region. In the same context, the White House noted on Friday that it is monitoring the situation at the Zaporizhia plant and has not observed any increase in radiation levels.
