The lawyer for former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed today, Monday, that his client is being held in a small and dirty cell. This came after he was allowed to meet with the former cricket star in prison as he prepares to appeal a conviction related to financial corruption cases. His lawyer, Naeem Bangash, stated, "It is a small room with an open toilet, where he said it fills with flies during the day and insects at night." He indicated that Khan's legal team will submit a request to the authorities to provide him with better conditions in prison. Political prisoners are entitled to stay in better facilities than "second-class," which include a television, newspapers, and books. A spokesperson for the government and prison authorities did not respond to repeated requests for comments on Khan's detention conditions.
