US State Department Urges Citizens to Leave Lebanon

The US State Department has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon "if desired," due to the tense security situation. In a statement, it clarified that there are still available flights, but capacity is declining. The department stated: "If you need financial assistance from the US government to purchase tickets to leave Lebanon, or if you are interested in receiving messages from the US State Department, please complete this crisis intake form https://cacms.state.gov/s/crisis-intake. If you know American citizens seeking assistance from the US embassy in Lebanon, please ask them to complete the crisis intake form."

The State Department advised American citizens to refrain from traveling to Lebanon and recommended that they make appropriate arrangements to leave the country. It also advised those who choose to stay in Lebanon to prepare emergency plans.
