A senior official at the U.S. Treasury has warned that any government shutdown would pose challenges to the world's largest economy and could lead to a decline in demand, as authorities provide fewer resources to citizens. These remarks were made by Deputy Treasury Secretary Wally Adeyemo at the Economic Club in New York, as a potential shutdown looms at the end of this month. The White House has asked Congress to urgently vote on a budget extension to avoid such a situation that could paralyze the entire federal government. Adeyemo stated that "our performance is much better than many expected due to what we have done regarding targeted investment."
