Bloomberg: G20 Grants Permanent Membership to the African Union

Bloomberg News reported today, Thursday, citing informed sources, that "the Group of Twenty (G20) has agreed to grant permanent membership to the African Union." It added, "This move will give the African bloc the same status currently enjoyed by the European Union, referred to as the international organization." The report mentioned that G20 leaders are expected to announce the decision during a summit to be held in India in a few days.
