The Saudi Press Agency reported on Thursday that "the Ministry of Defense in the Kingdom has executed two military personnel who were accused of committing military treason along with other charges." The agency stated: "They were referred to the competent court, and all judicial guarantees were provided to them. They admitted to the charges against them, and verdicts were issued confirming their guilt, leading to their sentencing to death, according to legal and Sharia requirements." It added: "They are a pilot major and a chief warrant officer who were arrested in 2017 and sentenced to death for treason and for failing to uphold the country's interests and the honor of military service." The Ministry of Defense announced the execution of the death sentence against two of its members convicted of committing the crime of treason.
