The Secretary-General of the separatist Catalan party "Together for Catalonia," Jordi Turull, confirmed on Monday that the party will seek to exploit the "opportunity" provided by the general elections in Spain to achieve Catalonia's independence. In an interview with the local radio station "RAC1," he highlighted that holding a referendum in Catalonia and issuing a political amnesty are two key elements to resolving the political conflict there. The "Together for Catalonia" party could play a crucial role in enabling Spanish Socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez to form a new government. The party has ruled out supporting the conservative Popular Party, which emerged as the leader in the elections held on Sunday.
