Solidarity with Romania Following Incident Near Ukraine Border

Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar revealed today, Wednesday, that parts of a Russian drone have fallen on his country's territory. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis stated earlier today that Russian airstrikes occurred less than a kilometer from Romania's border with Ukraine yesterday, amid intense attacks on the Ukrainian port of Ismail. Iohannis added in a joint press conference with Luxembourg Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, "The defense minister told me that we were attacked today, and we verified that it was 800 meters from our border." NATO expressed "strong solidarity" with Romania after being informed of the incident involving parts of what could be a Russian drone on Romanian territory. The alliance stated in a release, "We continue to closely monitor the situation and maintain close communication with our ally Romania."
