Important Circular for Factories Operating on Lebanese Soil

The Minister of Industry in the caretaker government, Deputy George Bouchikian, issued Circular No. 1/83 to the owners of factories operating on Lebanese territory. It stated: "Based on Cabinet Decision No. 1 dated 11/09/2023, regarding the Syrian displacement, particularly the illegal infiltration of displaced persons, and the request to all ministries and relevant administrations to carry out specific actions within their scope of authority, it is requested from the factories operating on Lebanese territory not to employ Syrian workers who do not possess legal documents and licenses. This is under the risk of halting the operations of these factories and revoking their licenses. The ministry will take measures aimed at ensuring compliance of the factories with this circular and acting accordingly."
