Shark Attack in Hurghada: The Shark was in Labor

Experts predict that the shark that attacked the Russian tourist in Hurghada was in labor and may have attacked the tourist out of fear for her embryos. An examination revealed that there were small embryos in her belly, and her stomach was empty due to the period the female shark spends moving from her residence with her mate to the secluded shallow area she chooses to protect her young.

This also explains why around 35 fishermen could not transport her from the sea to the shore, despite being able to catch her easily because she was in labor. Eyewitnesses noted that this shark was approaching the shore a day before the incident involving the Russian tourist, and there should have been a strong warning issued based on this. Those who saw her should have immediately reported her location, and authorities should have prohibited marine activities in that area.

One fisherman explained that although shark attacks on humans are extremely rare, it is important to raise awareness that May, June, and August are the birthing months for tiger sharks, and teams should be assigned to monitor the beaches.
