Pharmacists' Syndicate President Joe Saloom pointed out that "we hoped there would be a clear and sustainable plan for cancer patients who are suffering from a severe shortage of their medications." He added in an interview with "Voice of Lebanon": "The file of cancer drugs and other chronic diseases requires a comprehensive and integrated plan and a donors' conference." He indicated that "we support locally manufactured generic medications because their quality is good and their prices are relatively acceptable, but we must be cautious about some medications that come from other countries through smuggling, as we do not know their source or composition."
