The Ministry of Finance clarified in a statement regarding the circulating rumors about imposing fees on coffins carrying human remains coming from abroad, as mentioned in the draft budget law for the year 2024. In light of the ongoing confusion and statements made about it, the ministry noted that "what was included in the budget draft is merely a proposed fee from a series of fee proposals sent by the Ministry of Environment in a table consisting of 43 pages, and was never a proposal originating from the Ministry of Finance." Consequently, the ministry views the recent withdrawal of this proposal by the Minister of Environment, as stated yesterday, as a positive gesture that will receive full cooperation from the Ministry of Finance. The ministry emphasized that "regardless of the stance, the budget draft is open for discussion in the Council of Ministers and the Parliament, and the final decision rests with them."
