A major traffic accident occurred at the Kenyan Londiani intersection on Friday evening, resulting in the deaths of 55 individuals and injuring approximately 60 others. The injured were transported to various hospitals in Londiani, Kericho, and Nakuru where they are currently receiving treatment. Police reported that the accident happened when a truck driver lost control, colliding with several vehicles. They noted that rescue efforts were hampered by heavy rains, but affirmed that "the situation is still under control."

The Kenyan Red Cross stated that the truck struck more than six vehicles and ran over some pedestrians. Kenyan President William Ruto tweeted, "The whole country is in mourning with the families who have lost their loved ones in a horrific road accident in Londiani." He expressed distress that some of the fatalities included young people with promising futures and business individuals engaged in their daily activities.

Kenyan media captured scenes from the accident site, indicating that the incident occurred after the truck lost control, hitting pedestrians, businesspeople, taxis, and vehicles parked by the roadside. 'I've seen close to 20 bodies,' the driver recounted regarding the Londiani accident that has claimed numerous lives.
