The Lebanese Public Prosecutor, Judge Ghassan Odeidat, received a letter from the Libyan Attorney General, Consultant Al-Saddiq Al-Sour, inquiring about the legal reasons for the continued detention of Hannibal Gaddafi, who has been imprisoned in Lebanon since 2015. The letter also sought clarification on the judicial assistance Lebanon requires from Libya in the case of the kidnapping and disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his companions, Sheikh Muhammad Yaqoub and journalist Abbas Badreddin. A source confirmed to "Asharq Al-Awsat" that Odeidat "referred the letter to the investigating judge in this case, Judge Zahir Hamada, to review it and provide answers to convey to the Libyan side." The source explained that Judge Hamada "has begun studying the Libyan message as he is responsible for the case and is preparing a report that addresses the accusations against Hannibal Gaddafi, including the available information regarding the charges against him in the al-Sadr case, which have led to his continued detention since 2015."
