Major Night Attack on Ukraine: 41 Russian Drones Shot Down

Officials in Kyiv revealed today, Wednesday, that Russia launched a major drone attack on areas in southern, central, and eastern Ukraine overnight, causing damage to private and commercial buildings as well as infrastructure. The air force stated that it shot down 41 out of 48 Russian drones that had launched from the city of Kursk in western Russia and the Crimea Peninsula, which was seized by Moscow in 2014. They added that all the assault drones were Iranian-made Shahed models. The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that people’s homes and commercial buildings were damaged due to debris from the drones in various regions. Additionally, the statement noted that damage occurred to unspecified infrastructure facilities in several areas as well as to gas pipelines in the northeastern Kharkiv region.
