Minister of Social Affairs in the caretaker government, Hector Hajar, emphasized during a coordinating meeting aimed at forming a crisis cell to respond to the displacement of Lebanese people from areas affected by the Israeli aggression, the "importance of solidarity with our displaced families, and the necessity of coordination between the ministry, associations, local communities, international organizations, and the Disaster Management Authority to work effectively and avoid duplication and wastage of resources and human capacities, in light of the limited resources available to us."
The participants agreed on the "necessity to activate a unified platform for collecting data on displaced Lebanese on one hand, and data on the associations on the other hand, as well as the importance of coordination between ministries and between ministries and municipalities." They stressed "the need to coordinate with international organizations to involve them in the crisis cell, in addition to the importance of the media's role in disseminating essential information beneficial to citizens, and properly managing volunteers while ensuring the protection of women, children, the elderly, and individuals with special needs."
