TikTok Launches Text-Only Post Feature to Compete with Twitter

The TikTok app has launched a feature allowing users to create text-only posts in an attempt to capitalize on the disruptions Twitter has been experiencing since American billionaire Elon Musk acquired the popular social media platform last year. This feature will enable TikTok users to choose from a variety of backgrounds for their text posts, which can include hashtags and the option to tag other users. According to "The Verge," a technology news site, TikTok's new posts, resembling the "Stories" feature on Instagram, have a maximum character limit of 1,000. Additionally, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, has launched "Threads," another text-based app that could pose a threat to Twitter. Musk has also rebranded Twitter to "X" and removed the blue bird logo in his bid to create an "everything app."
