The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Division issued the following statement: On 31-12-2022, information was received by the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces regarding an individual who was holding his son captive and binding him with an iron chain at their home in the town of Taanayel, Bekaa. Following this, orders were given to a patrol from the division to proceed to the mentioned town to verify the information, and if confirmed, to work on freeing the child and pursuing legal action against the father.
Immediately, one of the patrols was dispatched to survey the location, and as a result of investigations and inquiries, it was found that the detained child was named H. S. (born in 2004, Syrian) and his father was named J. S. (born in 1970, Syrian). On the same date, the patrol, supported by another unit from the Shatoura police station, raided the house and managed to arrest the father and rescue the son, who was held in a bedroom and chained with an iron chain.
Upon interrogating J. S., he confessed to the charges against him regarding holding his son captive in the house and chaining him due to family disputes. The necessary legal action was taken against the arrested individual, based on directives from the relevant judiciary.
