The Ministry of Agriculture confirmed in a statement that following reports about the presence of sharks near Lebanese shores, the relevant technical departments within the ministry were mobilized, under the direction of Minister of Agriculture Abbas Al-Hajj Hassan, to verify the accuracy of the circulating news, which turned out to be largely incorrect. Experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and specialized experts in Lebanon state that the Lebanese coast contains several species of sharks, most of which are classified as non-aggressive unless provoked. The ministry emphasized that sharks are environmentally important fish and are essential for maintaining the marine ecosystem. Additionally, the ministry stressed the necessity of adhering to the relevant laws, decrees, and government decisions.
