The heat wave that is "devastating" the moderate climate of Lebanon has led to poor visibility, and in some areas, visibility is nearly non-existent, influenced by cloud movements covering Lebanon. Father Eli Khneisser, a specialist in meteorology and climate in Boston, indicated that these clouds are moving from the northern region of Saudi Arabia, carried by hot southeastern winds, which we refer to as tropical clouds.
Father Khneisser explained: "The clouds converge over Lebanon and are filled with moisture from the western winds reaching 95%, resulting in passing rain showers and scattered thunderstorms between Lebanon, Syria, and Palestine. This situation will continue until tomorrow." He added: "It should be noted that the atmosphere will turn hot after 7 PM on Sunday in all Lebanese and Syrian regions, and the winds will resume their activity tomorrow during the day with the possibility of scattered rain and thunderstorms, with local gusts reaching around 55 km/h."
Father Khneisser accompanied his report about the heat wave with a video demonstrating the movement of clouds directly from the satellite over Saudi Arabia and Jordan towards Lebanon.
