Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo expressed his happiness on Tuesday about joining Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, stating that he preferred Al Nassr over many European clubs. This came during a joint press conference with Al Nassr President Musalli Al Muammar in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The former Manchester United player said, "I am happy to be here. I know that the Saudi league is very competitive, and I am ready to join Al Nassr." He added, "Despite the European contracts that were offered to me, I chose Al Nassr."
In his message to fans in Saudi Arabia and around the world, Ronaldo said, "I came here to play, enjoy, win, and participate in the club and country’s culture. I aim to break records with Al Nassr."
For his part, Al Nassr President Musalli Al Muammar stated that Cristiano Ronaldo's presence in the Saudi league is a significant addition, adding, "Ronaldo is not just a Korean deal but falls within a development vision."
