Telegram from Mikati to the Iraqi Prime Minister

The caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati sent a telegram to the Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, expressing condolences for the victims of the large fire that occurred in Nineveh province. The text of the telegram stated: "We are saddened by the loss your brotherly Iraq has suffered, with hundreds of victims between the dead and injured due to the horrific fire in the Hamdaniya area of Nineveh province." He added: "In this sad occasion, we can only express our solidarity with you and the brotherly Iraqi people, and convey our condolences, asking the Almighty to envelop the victims with His abundant mercy and grant the wounded a speedy recovery." Mikati continued: "We are confident that brotherly Iraq will rise from this setback, to return healthy and safe."
