Iranian President Tells OPEC Chief He Hopes Oil Producers Can Calm Markets

Iranian media reported that President Ebrahim Raisi informed the Secretary General of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on Saturday that he hopes oil producers can calm the market. He called for unity among the organization's members. Raisi was quoted saying, "I hope OPEC can manage the tensions in the market and bring calm to the oil market." OPEC Secretary General Haitham al-Ghais is currently visiting Tehran.
