"Woman with a Watch" by Picasso Sold for $139 Million

Sotheby's announced that Pablo Picasso's famous painting "Woman with a Watch" was sold at auction for $139.4 million. In a statement released by the auction house on social media platform X, it was mentioned: "The masterpiece Woman with a Watch (Femme à la montre) painted by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso in 1932 was recently sold at auction for $139.4 million, making it the second most expensive work by the artist ever sold at auction, and the most valuable work sold at auction this year." The painting had been part of a private collection since 1968 and features Picasso's muse, Marie-Thérèse Walter. It is noteworthy that the mentioned painting was exhibited in September in Dubai, as part of a tour that also included Hong Kong and London.
