Heavy Rains Cause Chaos at Frankfurt Airport

Heavy rains in southwestern Germany disrupted air traffic at Frankfurt Airport, resulting in the delay and cancellation of over 100 flights. Videos shared on social media showed the extent of the damage caused by the rains, leading to chaotic conditions with passengers stuck for hours on their planes and in some terminal areas that were unaffected by the flooding. Frankfurt Airport reported that, in addition to the canceled flights, more than 20 flights were redirected to other airports. The damage was not limited to the airport; rescue teams assisted hundreds of people trapped in their cars within tunnels and on highways due to the water, or those who were trapped by fallen trees.
