The acting Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, announced that about 40 Spanish citizens left the Gaza Strip today, Monday, through the Rafah border crossing with Egypt. These individuals are part of a group consisting of 140 to 170 Spanish citizens and their family members, some of whom hold dual nationality, who requested evacuation from the Palestinian territory. Albares stated in a press conference, "I confirm that 33 Spaniards of Palestinian origin specifically and seven of their family members have already crossed the Egyptian checkpoint at the Gaza-Egypt border in Rafah." He added that the group has already boarded buses accompanied by staff from the Spanish embassy and are on their way to Cairo. Albares mentioned that Spain has obtained approval from Israel to evacuate about 80 more individuals from Gaza tomorrow, Tuesday.
