Elon Musk Hints at Charging Fees for Using "X"

Elon Musk announced that all users of the social media platform "X," formerly known as Twitter, may have to pay fees for access to the site. In a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Musk confirmed that implementing a payment system is the only way to combat automated accounts, or "bots," using the platform. The CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and X stated, "We are preparing to transition to a system that requires a monthly payment for using the platform." It is not yet clear whether Musk's comments were spontaneous or an indication of confirmed plans that have not yet been announced.
