Decline in New Unemployment Claims in America

The number of Americans filing new unemployment claims decreased last week, indicating that the labor market continues to show few signs of slowing down. The U.S. Department of Labor stated today, Thursday, that initial claims for state unemployment benefits fell by 3,000 to 217,000 after seasonal adjustments for the week ending November 4. Economists surveyed by Reuters had expected 218,000 claims for that week.
