A Hamas official announced today, Saturday, in statements broadcast by Al-Mayadeen TV, that the head of the movement's political bureau, Ismail Haniya, met with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei during a visit to Tehran in recent days. Osama Hamdan, a leader in the Iran-backed Hamas movement who was speaking from Beirut, did not provide further details about Haniya's visit to Tehran. Haniya has been residing between Qatar and Turkey since 2019.
