King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Jeddah has successfully used a robot to implant electroencephalography chips in the brain of a patient suffering from intractable epilepsy. This technique represents a modern approach aimed at improving treatment outcomes and reducing recovery time. The King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre utilized the robot to plant electroencephalography chips for a patient with intractable epilepsy, as part of the effort to identify epileptic focal areas in the brain. The robotic technique provides a minimally invasive surgical intervention, involving making holes no larger than 2 mm in the skull. This technique is considered a superior alternative to traditional methods such as the "Leksell frame." The Saudi Press Agency emphasized the benefits of using robots in surgeries, noting their high precision and the short duration of the medical procedure. The advantages of the robot are not limited to chip implantation only, but also encompass various other surgical procedures.
