The "Bonhams" auction house in London has launched its exhibition to sell paintings of Middle Eastern art, featuring works by the Egyptian-Armenian artist Shant Avedisian. The first painting, a portrait of the artist Faten Hamama, was sold for £6,400, while the second painting of the artist Hind Rostom has not yet been sold, with an estimated price between £5,000 and £8,000. Shant Avedisian was born in Upper Egypt in 1951, and despite his artistic education and Armenian heritage, the predominant influence in Avedisian's work is his deep appreciation for Egyptian identity, along with a focus on the visual traits associated with Egypt's nature, landmarks, and famous faces.
