The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) announced in a statement that its peacekeeping soldiers observed explosions this afternoon, Monday, near the town of Al-Bustan in southwestern Lebanon. The statement added that the international forces are working to gather more information. UNIFIL's Head of Mission, Major General Aroldo Latharo, is in contact with the relevant parties, urging them to exercise utmost restraint and utilize the liaison and coordination mechanisms provided by UNIFIL to prevent further escalation and loss of life.
