The President of the Lebanese Forces Party, Deputy Sami Gemayel, asserted that "the crisis in Lebanon requires a rational approach from the Lebanese to reach the right solutions," reiterating that "the key to getting out of the current situation is electing a president capable of saving the country and opening a new chapter in its history to restore its unique model in the region and the world."
Gemayel emphasized, during a lecture in the French city of Menton, the necessity for "the president to oversee sessions of reconciliation and transparency among the Lebanese and to work towards genuine negotiations with Hezbollah regarding the issue of arms, which should conclude with the restoration of the state's political decision-making and the establishment of Lebanon's neutrality, keeping it away from external conflicts in which it has no involvement." He added, "There must be accountability for everyone who contributed to bringing the country to its current political and economic state."
