The General Directorate of State Security stated in a statement that "after receiving information about a pharmacy in Akkar selling smuggled medications without undergoing the necessary laboratory and administrative procedures before entering Lebanon, and without the required licenses from the Ministry of Health or the Syndicate of Pharmacists, a patrol was sent to the pharmacy owned by (M.D.) accompanied by an inspector from the Syndicate of Pharmacists. The pharmacy was closed with red wax, and an investigation is underway with its owner under the supervision of the competent judiciary."
