After receiving information regarding the preparation for the smuggling of Syrian individuals to Europe by sea, on November 9, 2023, in the area of Qubbat Shamra - Akkar District, a force from the Halba Judicial Detachment was able to arrest the following individuals: M. K. (born in 1998, Lebanese), M. A. (born in 1976, Lebanese), and A. K. (born in 2000, Lebanese), for the crime of smuggling persons by sea. The Halba Judicial Detachment also arrested 15 individuals of Syrian nationality and seized four vehicles used in the smuggling operations, in addition to a quantity of weapons and ammunition.
