On Syrian Displacement: Bouhabib Discusses European-Lebanese Interests

During his meeting with Belgian Minister of Cooperation and Development Caroline Génaux, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bouhabib, emphasized that the humanitarian and social situation in Syria cannot remain unchanged. He pointed out that "early recovery and assisting Syrians in their country is a shared European-Lebanese interest to prevent the direction of refuge from Lebanon to Europe." He stressed that European investment in the development and strengthening of Lebanese state institutions enhances the official administration's and its institutions' ability to rise again.
