A Delta flight had to divert for nearly an hour en route from the United States to Barcelona, Spain, due to an "unfortunate biological hazard," according to the aircraft's captain. According to the British newspaper The Mirror, the Delta flight took off two hours late from Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday evening, headed for Barcelona. While the passengers settled in for the long flight, a person fell ill with diarrhea, prompting the pilot to change the flight's course when the passenger lost control of their bowels at an altitude of 37,000 feet. According to a message sent to air traffic control, the chaos resulting from this diarrhea "spread everywhere." The flight captain informed ground control, "It's just a biological issue; we had a passenger suffering from diarrhea the whole time on board."
