Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy Seizes Two Vessels Smuggling 4.5 Million Liters of Fuel

According to the semi-official news agency Tasnim, on Wednesday, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy seized two vessels smuggling 4.5 million liters of fuel. The agency added that the Revolutionary Guard detained 34 foreign crew members from the two ships during the operation. Iran, which has some of the cheapest fuel prices in the world due to subsidies and a declining local currency, faces widespread smuggling operations for fuel by land to neighboring countries and by sea to Arab states in the Gulf region.
