A statement posted on the U.S. Treasury Department's website indicated that the United States issued sanctions today, Wednesday, targeting nine individuals and one entity linked to Hamas. Additionally, it announced new sanctions on "individuals and entities based in Iran, Hong Kong, China, and Venezuela for enabling Iran's ballistic missile and drone programs." The department noted that "the sanctioned individuals supported the Revolutionary Guard and the Ministry of Defense in the production and deployment of missiles." The Treasury's Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Brian Nelson, stated that "Iran's reckless choice to continue deploying destructive drones and other weapons prolongs numerous conflicts in regions around the world," adding that "11 individuals, eight companies, and one ship were targeted."
