Pope Francis Calls for Access to Aid in Gaza

Pope Francis reiterated today, Wednesday, his call for the release of hostages in Gaza and for humanitarian aid to be allowed into the territory. He stated during his weekly meeting with people: "I always think of the serious situation in Palestine and Israel. I urge for the release of hostages and the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza." The Pope mentioned that he will lead a special mass on Friday for peace at St. Peter's Cathedral, which he described last week as a "day of fasting, prayer, and repentance."
