The French newspaper "L'Équipe" has provided the latest updates regarding the future of Kylian Mbappe, the striker of Paris Saint-Germain, which may primarily delight fans of Real Madrid. The French outlet confirmed that Mbappe's stance on renewing his contract with PSG remains unchanged, as the player has no intention of extending his deal and wishes to be free to choose his future club in the summer of 2024.
According to the report, Mbappe agreed to forgo bonuses exceeding 100 million euros for PSG in order to return to the team after being excluded from the preparation period for the 2023-2024 season. He made this move to ensure he can play normally throughout the season.
If things remain as they are, Mbappe will be free to sign a preliminary contract to join any team starting January 2024, with a move to take place at the end of the season for free. PSG may see their star departing for nothing, which would be catastrophic, while Real Madrid could emerge as the biggest winner if they only have to worry about paying his salary.
