Narathiwat province Governor Sanan Phongaksorn told Reuters on Sunday that "12 people have been killed and over a hundred injured when fireworks exploded at a warehouse in southern Thailand." Phongaksorn stated, "The fireworks exploded and ignited a fire on Saturday in an unlicensed storage facility in the Su-Ngay Kolok area of the southern province bordering Malaysia." He added, "There are ten confirmed dead in addition to the bodies of two unidentified individuals sent for DNA testing." Sanan noted that "around 121 people were injured, with two in critical condition, while 111 have been discharged from the hospital," adding, "I do not believe there are more fatalities."
