National Liberation Army Contacts for Release of Díaz's Father

A news report indicated that the National Liberation Army, which claimed responsibility for the kidnapping of the Colombian Luis Díaz's father, has begun communicating with humanitarian organizations to negotiate the release process. The "Daily Mail" reported on Wednesday that the National Liberation Army in Colombia has reached out to the United Nations and the Catholic Church to set the conditions for the release, which could take place this evening.

The National Liberation Army had released Díaz's mother shortly after the kidnapping, but the rebels continued to hold the player's father as a hostage. Colombian police and military forces conducted a wide-ranging search for the father of the Liverpool star in the Barrancas area near Venezuela.

Luis Díaz had called for the release of his father, Manuel Díaz, by posting a statement through his official Instagram account after participating in his team's match against Luton Town last Sunday. It is noteworthy that Luis Díaz returned to training with Liverpool last week, and the Colombian forward saved the "Reds" from a significant defeat against the modest Luton Town by scoring the equalizer (1-1) in stoppage time during their match in the 11th round of the English Premier League.
