Russia Thwarts Ukrainian Attack on Russian Ship Near the Bosporus Strait

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that it thwarted an attack by Ukrainian drones on the Russian Navy ship "Ivan Khurs" in the Bosporus Strait area today, Wednesday. The ministry stated in a release that: "At 5:30 local time, 140 kilometers northeast of the Bosporus Strait, Ukrainian forces made a failed attempt to attack the Ivan Khurs ship of the Black Sea Fleet with three fast attack drones, which is engaged in ensuring the safe operation of the 'TurkStream' and 'Blue Stream' gas pipelines in the exclusive economic zone of the Republic of Turkey."

The ministry noted that the Russian ship managed to destroy all the drones with conventional gunfire and is now continuing its mission, pointing out that following the terrorist attack on the "Nord Stream" gas lines, the Russian fleet is protecting these lines. It is worth mentioning that "Ivan Khurs" is a medium reconnaissance ship of project 18280, designed for communications support, fleet monitoring, electronic intelligence, and electronic warfare, with a displacement of about four thousand tons, a length of about 100 meters, and a sailing range of over eight thousand nautical miles. It joined the Black Sea Fleet in 2018.
