Zelensky: Ukraine Will End Russia's Occupation of Crimea

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky pledged on Wednesday to end Russia's occupation of the Crimean Peninsula and all other areas controlled by Moscow in his country. Speaking at an international conference on Crimea, which included participation from over 60 countries, he stated, "Crimea will be liberated like all other parts of Ukraine that are unfortunately still under occupation." Russia seized and annexed Crimea in 2014, a move that most other countries did not recognize. Russia captured other parts of Ukraine in a large-scale invasion launched in February 2022. Ukraine began a counteroffensive in early June to attempt to reclaim the territories occupied by Russia.
