A drawing was held in several U.S. states for one of the largest Mega Millions jackpots valued at approximately $1.1 billion, with no tickets winning on Tuesday night, leading to an increase in the prize for the next drawing scheduled later this week.
According to the organizers of the Mega Millions drawing, "no one held any of the winning tickets with the numbers 8, 24, 30, 45, or 61, nor the ticket number 12 that won the Mega Ball in a drawing earlier that same night."
The next lottery drawing will take place on Friday, with the jackpot rising to $1.25 billion. Should any ticket holder win on Friday, they will have the option to receive the grand prize in installments over 30 years or a net amount of $625.3 million.
The odds of winning are slim, with any ticket holder having a one in 300 million chance of matching all the correct numbers on their ticket.
